Amazon Launching New Distribution Station In Colorado Springs

Amazon just announced that they will build a new distribution center in Colorado Springs. This come just days after the the online retailer announced that Prime members will now receive one day shipping on most Prime orders.

The Gazette reports the delivery station will be built on 19 acres at the Colorado Springs Airport and is expected to be completed in mid-September.

Amazon released the following statement Wednesday:

"Amazon Logistics today announced it will open its fourth Colorado Delivery Station located in Colorado Springs. The new station will power Amazon’s last-mile delivery capabilities to speed up deliveries for customers in the surrounding area. Delivery Stations enable Amazon Logistics to supplement capacity and flexibility to Amazon’s delivery capabilities to support the growing volume of customer orders. Additionally, the station will create hundreds of work opportunities for small businesses and independent contractors.
