CSPD launches Valentine's Day Card Contest

The Colorado Springs Police Department is doing a contest this year asking kids to send in their homemade Valentine's Day cards, and the winner gets a giant stuffed teddy bear named "Officer Ted E. Bear" The rules are below:

CONTEST RULES FROM CSPD:

-Participants must be 3 to 10 years old.

-Submissions start Jan. 14 and will end Feb. 7.

-The Valentine's Day Card must be homemade.

-Address the cards to "The Community Relations Unit" and drop them off at the Police Operations Center at 705 S. Nevada Ave.

-Include the child's name, age and a parent or guardian's name and phone number.

TIMELINE

- Jan. 14 submissions are being accepted

- Feb. 6 Police chief picks top three cards

- Feb. 7 Police put the top three cards on social media for public voting

- Feb. 13 Public voting ends

- Feb. 14 winner announced
