Christina Applegate knows her worth and will stand her ground.

During an appearance on the March 5 episode of The View, Applegate opened up about negotiating for higher salary for her role in Anchorman after the first offer was "offensively" low, per E! News. The actress starred in the 2004 comedy as well as its 2013 sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opposite Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and more.

Applegate explained in her new memoir You with the Sad Eyes that Ferrell as well as writer and director Adam McKay took a hit to their own salaries to bring her on board. She expanded on this while on The View and revealed that she is glad for the opportunity because she had a great time making the fan-favorite film.

"When they came in with the initial offer, it was, you know, a little offensive," she said on The View. "And I said I can't. I know my worth, and I can't do that. They wanted me bad enough, and they said, 'Well, we're gonna chip in.' Thank God they did because it was one of the best experiences of my entire life."

The Married... with Children actress, who admitted that she had "never done improve before," added that working on the movie was "such as a lesson" that has aided in subsequent projects.

"Learning from that group of dudes... that is the masterclass that people pay for," she said. "Steve Carell, like, taught it. Adam McKay developed an entire new way of doing it with his group. To get in there and have that happen was absolutely magic and it's been invaluable to me and my career."

Applegate's memoir also shares an honest take on her health journey. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 and explained to People last month that the pain has become so bad that she spends much of her time in bed.

"My life isn't wrapped up with a bow," she said. "People's lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f---ing suck sometimes. So, I'm being as honest and raw as I possibly can."
