If you know anything about Coloradians (is that a word?), is that we love to ski. So, its no surprise that every year it is a race to see which resort will have the first opening day. There has been a lot of buzz about new lifts this year, and of course what the weather is going be giving us.
But anyways, the wait is over! And a lot sooner than we were expecting. Drum roll...the first resort will officially be Wolf Creek Ski Area! And its happening this weekend. The ski resort was happy to announce their kickoff party will be Saturday, October 12 at 9a. The family owned operation is expected to have 3 lifts running this weekend, and as far as we know they will be keeping their Saturday and Sunday schedule for the season. They reveal they have all natural snow already versus man-made conditions of other resorts, and are expecting normal 'early season' conditions for the opening.
