A woman who was filmed throwing hot coffee on a Latino contractor is publicly apologizing and says she is not racist.
Rhonda Polon says the video that's gone viral does not reflect who she is. Rhonda lives in a condo building where Miguel Sanchez was hired to do some repairs by one of the condo owners. Reportedly when Rhonda saw Miguel and his co-worker she started to question why they were there and said they were probably there to steal stuff and allegedly started using racial slurs. Rhonda says she was suspicious because of recent break-ins in the garage. Even after Miguel showed Rhonda the keys and garage opener he had with him she continued her rant and threw hot coffee on him.
Miguel called the Los Angeles Police Department and they told him he could make a private person arrest but he declined because he didn't want to affect his relationship with the company contracting him.
Rhonda says since the video has gone viral she has been harassed online and one of her neighbors organized a protest outside of her building.
