This grocery store has a dirty mind! Publix grocery store in South Carolina decided to censor an old term on this graduate’s cake.
Cara Koscinski wanted to surprise her son with the cake at his party so reportedly she ordered the cake online to say "Congrats Jacob! Summa Cum Laude class of 2018."
Cara said the online message box did not like the word "cum," the Latin word for "with." The computer marked it as a bad word and substituted three hyphens.
Cara said she then filled in a box for special instructions, explaining the Latin word and placed the order.
A family member picked up the cake and wasn’t aware of what the cake was supposed to look like. When they presented Jacob with the cake at his party the family was surprised.
Publix did refund Cara for the cake and offered her a gift card.
