Man Requests Gluten Free Meal & Shockingly Gets...

A man who requested a gluten-free meal for his flight from Tokyo to Sydney on All Nippon Airways last month wound up receiving a single banana--with a cutlery pouch to help him eat it. "When the stewardess came to me, she said, 'We've got a special meal for you,' and I got the banana," 32-year-old London resident Martin Pavelka, who suffers from celiac disease, tells The Standard. "This was a nine-hour flight. Although gluten-free, the banana did not keep me full for very long." ANA has since said in a statement, "For this one passenger, we did not meet his expectations. We have apologized to him personally...The passenger ordered a gluten-free meal and then a gluten-free snack. The banana he ordered was the gluten-free snack option."
