Shut up!

Princess Daiaries 3 is officially in the works and while a release date is still tbd, the name of the director who will be making miracles happen for the upcoming film was just announced! According to Variety, Adele Lim, one of the creative minds behind Crazy Rich Asians, Raya and the Last Dragon, Joy Ride, will be directing the highly anticipated film.

What's more, the standout is a "diehard fan" of the iconic Princess Diaries series and has big plans for the evolution of the third film.

"As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide."

The series, which first graced screens 2001, follows Mia Thermopolis (affectionately referred to as Mia Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo), an average, American, high school sophomore turned princess who learns of her deceased father's royal descent just as she's discovering herself. Mia (played by Anne Hathaway) returns to her roots in the second movie to take over the throne as Queen of Genovia, replacing her beveled grandmother, Clarisse (played by Julie Andrews), who confidently shows her the ropes.

Through rule breaks, mistakes, and heartaches, Mia unlocks her true potential, a character evolution to be further elaborated upon in the third film! Information regarding the direction of the plot or the cast has yet to be revealed as the word readies for Princess Diaries 3.
