When most people welcome a new baby into their family, they can't wait to share their little one's name with the world. However, other parents prefer a bit more privacy when it comes to their children and tend to keep details to only those closest to them.

That seems to be the case for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who welcomed their fourth child together last year and have yet to reveal the name of their newest addition. And in true Ryan Reynolds fashion, he is quick with the jokes about the situation, quipping that he and Lively are "still waiting" for their pal Taylor Swift to reveal their youngest child's name, per Entertainment Tonight.

Since welcoming their fourth child in early 2023, Reynolds and Lively have remained quiet on the topics of their name and sex. During a Monday (May 13) appearance on Today, hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb asked the Deadpool star if Swift name-dropped their child in her latest project The Tortured Poets Department.

"We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name will be. We're still waiting. So, Taylor, let's maybe start, you know," he joked. "She's a prolific writer. I mean, what are we doing here? And lazy's not a word I'd attach to Taylor."

Swift notably revealed the name of her friends' third daughter in the song "Betty" from her 2020 album Folklore, which in addition to the titular character followed the story of characters named James and Inez. Reynolds and Lively are parents to daughters James, 9, and Inez, 7, leading many fans to the conclusion that their third daughter, now 4, is named Betty.

Reynolds previously spoke about how he and Lively prioritize their children's mental health and focus on the importance of "self-awareness."
