Josh Duhamel In Early Talks To Replace Armie Hammer In Jennifer Lopez Film

Armie Hammer's exit in the upcoming comedy, Shotgun Wedding, starring Jennifer Lopez might help Josh Duhamel's Hollywood comeback.

On Tuesday (January 19), ET reported that the actor is in early talks to replace Hammer in the film, which will see an engaged couple round up their opinionated families for a destination wedding. Hammer stepped down from his role in the film after his unverified DMs of graphic and sexual nature went viral. In the messages, Hammer's sexual fantasies were laid out, some with references to cannibalism.

In response to the controversy, Hammer hit back in a statement, saying, "I'm not responding to these bullsh*t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I'm grateful to them for that."

Meanwhile, a production spokesman for the romantic comedy confirmed his exit in a statement. "Given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision," the rep said.

Hammer's ex Elizabeth Chambers was reportedly shocked by the news of the scandal. "Her first priority, as always, are their children and trying to protect them from this news and make sure that they feel safe and secure,” the source recently said of their two children: daughter Harper Grace, 6, and son Ford Douglas Armand, 3. "She does not want them to be traumatized by everything going on."
