Good News at Noon: November 11, 2020

In today's good news...

  • National Parks have been a great place to get away this year. And for Veterans Day, the V.A. announced that all vets and gold star families now have a lifetime free pass to visit them.
  • A 64-year-old guy from New Jersey named Andy Priliszh spent 75 days in the hospital this year, including 54 on a ventilator. And all he wanted when he got out was a nice big steak. But when he left the hospital in June, he couldn't eat solid foods. The virus ravaged his body, so he couldn't swallow. But after four months of rehab, he was up and eating again. And he finally got his steak the other day. A local butcher made sure it was a good one, and brought him a 48-ounce ribeye. (Here's a photo.)
  • A retired contractor in Massachusetts has been staying busy during the pandemic by building a disabled veteran a new home. He got his town to sell him the land for $1, and people have donated around $40,000 in time to help make it happen.
