Cara Delevingne Cried Watching Taylor Swift's 'You Need To Calm Down' Video

Cara Delevingne proved once again that she is still on friendly terms with Taylor Swift by showing major love to the pop titan's new video for "You Need to Calm Down," which focuses on LGBTQ advocacy.

During the 26-year-old actress' appearance at Trevor LIVE Gala in New York, which took place on Monday (June 17), the star spoke on the red carpet about the viral music video, which includes a number of LGBTQ stars. "I cried and I've been texting her all day," the event's Hero Award recipient told Variety. "What [Taylor] is doing is brilliant. It’s just the beginning. Most of those people who are in support just don’t realize how important it is to say it out loud."

The star, who appeared in Swift's 2015 music video for "Bad Blood," went on to divulge a bit about their text message exchange. "We were talking today and she was like 'You were one of the people that helped me get to this place,'" Delevingne told reporters about Swift's advocacy for the LGBTQ community. "It’s not that she never believed it; it’s more that I don’t think she realized how much they need it." Delevingne recently went public with her romance with Pretty Little Liars alum Ashley Benson after she shared a clip of the pair kissing on Instagram. "I don't know because it is Pride, it's been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don't know. It's been just about our one year anniversary so, why not?" she said at the event.

Meanwhile, a number of other stars, including Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Nicole Byer, Eugene Lee Yang, Daya, the cast of the Broadway musical, The Prom, and more took to the NYC affair to raise over $2 million for the organization, which serves as the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people.
