Good News at Noon: January 13, 2021

In today's good news...

1. A five-year-old girl spent two weeks making 200 "Happy New Year" cards for people at a nursing home in New York. Her mom says she was worried they were lonely, and came up with the idea herself. She also emptied out her piggy bank, and used the money to buy them gifts.

2. Last year, a woman in Seattle started a group called Community Loaves that bakes bread for food banks. And at first, only a few people were doing it. But now over 500 home bakers are involved, and their most recent delivery was 1,300 loaves.

3. A grandmother in L.A. beat COVID last year after 20 days in the hospital. So last month, she went back and brought 800 tamales for the nurses, doctors, and other staff to share. She said it took her five days to make them all.

4. Someone at a Whataburger drive-thru in Florida paid for the person behind them in line on Friday. And it started a pay-it-forward chain that kept going for 105 cars.
